What never touches a putting green: TurFill and the TurfClean Plus process are landscape turf services. Putting greens get dedicated green sand and green-specific procedures only. What Cleaning Cannot Fix
Some green problems are structural, and no amount of washing changes them: a settled base putting bumps in the roll, failed seams, lifted edges, torn or dead fibers. When we find them, we photograph them, tell you plainly, and refer the work to TurFix®, our repair service, priced separately and only if you want it. Cleaning what should be repaired wastes your money, and we do not do it.

4Why does TurFore Restore cost $1,899?
Because it is hand labor for most of a day. A technician hand pressure washes every section of the green, re-treats stubborn zones, verifies drainage, and dresses in fresh putting green sand where needed. The price includes the materials and the second passes; nothing is metered or added later.
5Can mold be removed from an artificial putting green?
Visible mold buildup can be removed, yes. TurFore Restore addresses mold-affected surfaces by pre-treating them and hand pressure washing the green section by section until the surface is uniformly clean. We also show you the shade, moisture or debris conditions that fed the growth, because managing those is what keeps the green clean.
6Does artificial turf cause mold?
No. Turf itself does not cause mold. Mold grows when conditions allow it: persistent shade, trapped moisture, poor drainage and organic debris breaking down in the pile. Putting greens hold moisture differently than landscape turf because of their dense pile and sand dressing, which is why they get their own restoration process.
7Why is my putting green slow or bumpy?
Usually some combination of compacted or migrated sand dressing, matted fibers, and buildup in the pile. Routine TurFore service corrects all three with redistribution, grooming and cleaning. If the bumps come from a settled base or a failed seam, that is a repair, and we will document it and refer it to TurFix rather than pretend cleaning will fix it.
8Do you use TurFill on putting greens?
Never. TurFill is an odor-control infill for landscape turf. Putting greens use dedicated putting green sand, dressed to the level the surface was built for. When TurFore Restore replenishes a green, it is with clean green sand, not TurFill, and routine TurFore visits redistribute and groom the sand that is already there.
9Is TurFore the same as your regular turf cleaning?
No. Landscape turf gets our 10-step TurFresh process. A putting green is a different construction, dense short pile with a precision sand dressing, so TurFore follows putting-green-specific steps instead. Booking a standard turf cleaning for a green would clean it like a lawn, and a green is not a lawn.
10Can I book TurfClean Plus for my putting green?
No, and you should not want to: TurfClean Plus adds TurFill, which does not belong on a putting green. Greens are served by TurFore for routine care and TurFore Restore for intensive restoration. Your lawn areas can absolutely be on TurFresh or TurfClean Plus at the same visit.
11How often should a putting green be professionally cleaned?
Most backyard greens play their best with two to four TurFore visits per year, depending on trees, shade, weather exposure and how much the green is used. Greens under heavy shade or debris fall usually sit at the higher end. A TurfCare Plan keeps the schedule automatic.
12What is hand pressure washing, and why does it matter?
It means a technician washes the green personally, section by section, at the distance and angle a precision surface requires, reading the surface as they work. Cart-mounted or walk-behind rigs cover ground quickly but treat every square foot the same; a mold-affected green does not have uniform problems, so it does not get uniform treatment.
13Is sand replenishment included in the $1,899?
Yes, when the green requires it. Restoration washing can displace dressing, and neglected greens often arrive with low sand levels. Where either is true, we dress clean putting green sand back to the correct level and work it into the pile as part of the fixed price.
14Can you fix low spots, seams or edges on my green?
Those are repairs, and they belong to TurFix, our dedicated repair service. During any TurFore or TurFore Restore visit we document structural issues with photos and give you a straight answer about what cleaning will and will not change. Repair work is always quoted separately and never assumed.
15How long does TurFore Restore take?
Plan on most of a day for a typical backyard green. Section-by-section hand washing, second passes on stubborn zones, drying, drainage verification and sand dressing all take real time, and rushing any of them shows in the finished surface.
16Is the process safe for kids and pets?
Yes. TurFore and TurFore Restore use green-safe products from the same kid- and pet-conscious family as every TurFresh service. Once the surface has dried after a restoration, the green is ready for the family, and after a routine visit it is ready almost immediately.
17Can algae and moss be removed without damaging the green?
Yes. Algae and moss are treated with turf-safe products and mechanical cleaning, then removed rather than smeared, and we address the moisture condition that fed them, such as blocked drainage or debris in shaded corners. The fibers and backing are not harmed by the process.
18Will cleaning make my green faster?
Cleaning, redistribution and grooming restore the consistency the green was built with, and most owners feel the difference on the first putt. We do not quote speed numbers or promise a specific roll, because every green is built and dressed differently; what we restore is a clean, even, properly dressed surface.
19What if my green needs repairs instead of cleaning?
Then we tell you that before you spend money on the wrong service. If the inspection shows the real problem is a settled base, failed seam or edge issue, we document it, explain it, and refer it to TurFix. Cleaning a green that needs repair helps nobody, including us.
